Topic: “Happy Birthday Louisiana—Promoting Louisiana's Bicentennial”
About the Program:
It is an exciting time for Louisiana as we approach a huge milestone, Louisiana’s bicentennial. The Office of the Lt. Governor along with the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and the Bicentennial Commission have been planning 2012’s yearlong celebration of Louisiana’s 200th birthday for more than a year. Now it is time to promote it. From custom jewelry by Mignon Faget and license plates to educational desk references for teachers and museum exhibitions, many different media are being used to get the word out about the bicentennial.
Jacques Berry and Cami Geisman from Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne’s Office will discuss their media plan, including social media and other creative ways the office is promoting the Louisiana bicentennial. They will also give you information on upcoming events and how you and your organization can get involved.
