How do I apply to become a member of PRAL?

To apply, please follow these steps.

  1. Download a membership application. (Right-click on link and select "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As...".)
  2. Complete the application and sign it.
  3. Procure two written letters of recommendation from current active PRAL members to include in your packet.
  4. Include a check payable to PRAL for Professional membership ($60) or Premier Professional membership ($220).
  5. Mail complete packet to P.O. Box 14915, Baton Rouge, LA 70898-4915. (Please do not send partial applications, as this will slow down the approval process. It is best to wait and send in the complete packet all at once.)
  6. The PRAL board meets each month and votes on applications that have been received since the previous board meeting. Once your membership has been approved, you will receive an official email notifying you that your membership is active.
  7. Membership is renewed Jan. 1 of each year.

If you have any questions about membership, please contact PRAL's membership chair, Elizabeth Tadie Canfield.

How do I renew my membership?

Annual membership dues for PRAL Professional membership are $60 and Premier Professional membership are $220. Membership dues deadline is Jan. 1 each year. Renewal reminders are automatically emailed to members 30 days before the membership renewal deadline. Please contact the membership chair if an invoice is needed, otherwise the email notification will serve as the invoice for payment.

If paying by check or money order, dues payment should be made payable to:

Public Relations Association of Louisiana–Baton Rouge Chapter
Attn: Membership Chair
P.O. Box 14915
Baton Rouge, LA 70898-4915

If dues are not received by Jan. 31, then non-paid members will be placed in a lapsed status. If membership is lapsed for more than a year, the member must reapply for membership by completing a membership application and mailing dues. It is not necessary to obtain and submit two letters of recommendation for lapsed membership reinstatement.
